









Priyanka Narasimhan

Priyanka Narasimhan’s passion for classical dance began at the age of 8. She was initially introduced to Bharathanatyam at the age of 12, and has been under the able guidance of her guru, Dr. Ramya Thinniyam since then. Her journey started out by participating in local dance events as a junior, to performing on various stages including Madras Arts and Cultural Association (MACA), Bharathi Kala Manram, and Sringeri Vidya Bharathi Foundation (SVBF), to eventually becoming an assistant teacher of RamyaLaya Dance Academy. She has performed in many major dance productions and dance dramas including Sri Krishna Leelai, Muruga Namavali, Devi Darisanam, and BalaRamayanam, as well as represented RamyaLaya Dance Academy in many community events and charities. She has won prizes in Bharathanatyam competitions as well.
Priyanka has had experience in teaching various subjects such as Carnatic vocal music and tutoring children in Math, Science, and English. In addition, she volunteered her time teaching heritage classes at the Madras Arts and Cultural Academy for 4 years.
Priyanka’s passion for teaching stems from her love and respect towards the dance form. Her goal is to help as many students of younger generations understand the beauty of Bharathanatyam, and the responsibility we hold to preserve it. As an active assistant teacher and student, she continues to hone her skills under her guru’s guidance.
Priyanka received her Honours B.Sc in Computer Science, as a graduate of the University of Toronto.
