Bharatanatyam classes are very insightful, engaging, and in every class I learn both more about the Hindu culture along with more dance pieces. Workshops truly enrich my experience as they help me apply the skills I learn in class, work with others, manage my time, and overall let me be in touch with my roots. Finally, I really enjoy doing performances and going to rehearsals where I get to see my hard work showcased on a platform. I've learned to work hard and give in my full effort, even if I'm tired and think I can't do it anymore. I learned how to be a more determined and persevering individual through RamyaLaya Dance Academy and I'm really grateful for it!

Ramya is the complete package. She is a master of her craft, a professional, and very versatile as well. She is a great teacher - patient, organized, and encouraging. She has a clean and good sized space with mirrors and a clean floor, and a cart with a computer for recording purposes. She is prompt about sharing video clips of dances as well as the step by step learning videos. She is accommodating in terms of scheduling, She kept her communications professional and timely, and also followed all safety precautions as outlined by the CDC at the time. Ramya's group dance class in August covered a wide range of dance steps. She also custom choreographed a few dances (each of them being for two people) in August and September for two large and formal celebrations using songs from multiple genres, and did an outstanding job with them. I would go to Ramya again for any dance performance needs. I highly recommend her for any age group and occasion. She is an asset to our community, and I wish her the very best.

Congratulations to you and all participants for another spectacular show-dance drama on Lord Muruga. Awesome job everyone!
It was a very colorful show on the whole bringing out the different talents of all. Music was great and most of all a great way to teach the kids about our epics, in fact, a refresher for us too!

My husband, Sridhar & I started Bollywood dance classes with Ramyalaya dance academy in June this year. We wanted to learn some Bollywood dance steps and needed Ramya’s help to choreograph a dance for the sangeeth program at our daughter’s wedding in October. Sridhar had never danced in his life and this was his first ever time learning to dance. Our experience with Ramya was very rewarding and memorable. Our teacher has the utmost patience and went through each step in a detailed manner. She also recorded all the steps she taught us promptly for us to review and practice. Our large friends group learnt the choreographed dance from Ramya. We were seven couples and it was definitely a lot of effort from Ramya to make us all learn the routine and make the rendition a success at the wedding . Furthermore, Ramya gave us an opportunity to perform the dance at the Aurora temple cultural event a week ago. Ramya trained us with many practices and videos. She clarified all our doubts and is a wonderful teacher. The fact that my husband danced is a testament to her patience and teaching style.

My daughter Anoushka has been going to RamyaLaya Dance Academy since 2012, when she was in Canada. Ramya is a fantastic teacher and a thorough professional. She is extremely detail oriented. More than a teacher she is a mentor. Her dance dramas are extravagant and so very well thought out. She makes sure that the kids know the concept and get the posture and form. My daughter had to take a break from dance because we moved from Canada. What are the chances that Ramya would move to a neighbourhood near us in the US!! My mom and I took classes with Ramya this past summer to prepare for my brother’s wedding. She was super easy to work with and made us feel welcome in the class (group + private classes) despite having little prior experience. Ramya goes above and beyond to find relevant songs for our requests, she also modifies dance steps for skill level/comfort level, and is very good about following up with dance videos that are easy to follow at home to practice. Ramya is very knowledgeable about various dance forms, and can make your experience to learn dance for a wedding, event, just for fun, etc very simple. I do not generally enjoy dance or dance class, but Ramya did a great job of making everyone feel included and welcome.

Just wanted to say yesterday's arangetram of Shangavi was excellent!  We enjoyed it very much.  Great songs and the group was good. Also, your choreography was great. Shangavi was amazing, good expression and so much energy.  Usually, by the time thillana comes, the student is beat, but she was so full of energy, confident and ready to do the paambaattam!
